THE LONG WAIT IS OVER!

AND

THE EXCITEMENT LOOMS THIS SATURDAY!

If you follow me all along I've been following this very exciting 2yo Brant since early April 2025, and now, he is here ready to put on a show.

LET THE SHOW BEGINS!
LET THE SHOW BEGINS!
LET THE SHOW BEGINS!

Brant is entered to make his career debut this Saturday July 26, 2025, at Del Mar, race 4, running against 10 well-bred, high-price 2yo colts in a 5 1/2-furlong race, in which, he will start from post position 8.

See a couple of posts down this thread about 8 or 10 posts (down this thread) profiling this very exciting two-year-old colt Brant.

Bet Brant (ML 3-1) to win and place.

Yes, that is right: WIN/PLACE using double down betting strategy and you should be going home as a winner.

Personally, I will bet Brant to win only; however, you should adhere to the sound betting strategy stated above.

With that said, I think Brant will win this race first time out.

Brant is the morning line second choice behind his 5/2 favorite stable mate Balboa -- whom I don't know anything about him at all, other than he is out of a one-time allowance winner dam -- but he costs $875k as a yearling, so he is a good horse for them to pay that much money to get him as a yearling.

I'll take my chances on Brant (ML 3-1) and I think he'll win this race.

Put some considerable amount of money on Brant to win and place to make it worthwhile and justified going to the racetrack.

Brant's final odd will most likely be right around 2-1 second choice.

Take this easy money 3/1 (or at whatever the price is -- 2/1 is my guess) and leave the racetrack as a winner.

There you have it: Easy money!

****** BONUS: Playing For Fun and Making Some Money in The Process ******

The following bonus play is for fun only and I don't have a lot of confidence in these plays.

Nonetheless, it is worth it to play them.

You know betting on favorites (as I do all the time) is very boring.

To get some excitement, occasionally, you have to bet some longshots.

Longshot, that is, Judge Mille, a full brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Clairiere.

Judge Miller looks like something special for trainer Mark Glatt when he debuted as a 3-year-old in November of last year (2024), closing into strong finishing fractions to run second by 2 1/4 lengths in a six-furlong maiden special weight.

He subsequently used dueling tactics to win a seven-furlong maiden special weight at Santa Anita by three-quarters of a length.

Those were solid efforts, but Judge Miller improved dramatically when stretching out around two turns for a one-mile, $50,000 allowance optional claimer at Santa Anita in Feb 2024.

The full brother to multiple Grade 1 winner Clairiere vied for command through fractions of 23,17, 46.39, and 1:09.82 before drawing clear to dominate by 11 lengths in the fast time of 1:35.20.

Needless to say, his connections were very high after that race, and subsequently, they pointed him toward stakes races afterward when they put him in the Californian (Gr 3) where he finished 2nd and then he finished 3rd in the Hollywood JGC (Gr 2) in May 2024.

After the Hollywood JGC Judge Miller went on the sideline, perhaps experiencing some sort of injury setback, maybe?, when he resurfaced in May 2025 to win an allowance optional claimer very impressively.

Once again his connections were very high after his comeback race which prompted them to put him in a stakes race (The Hanshin Stakes) at Churchill Downs on June 29, 2025, where he finished sixth in a very fast-run race against a very good group of stakes horses.

Despite his 6th-place finish in that race, his connections are not detered and this Saturday put him to run against a very good group of stakes horses, particularly Nysos, who is likely to go off at 1/2 odd.

Judge Miller will be a longshot around 12-1.

UPDATE: July 27, 2025

OBS March Record Setter Brant Romps In Career Debut At Del Mar

Brant, the record-setting $3-million OBS March sale purchase this year (2025), made a stylish start to his racing career Saturday (7/26/25) at Del Mar, scoring a 5 1/4-length victory in a maiden special weight race at Del Mar.

Brant ran 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:02.63 and the track record for 5 1/2 furlongs at Del Mar is listed as 1:01.88, making Brant's time only 4/5 of a second of tying the track record.

For his debut win, Brant earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 101, one of six juveniles to record a triple-digit figure in races from five to seven furlongs this decade.

Five of those runners are trained by Baffert. Speed Boat Beach was given a 104 Beyer after a maiden race win at Del Mar in 2022, a year before Prince of Monaco earned a 103 after a maiden race win at Del Mar.

In 2022, Cave Rock earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 101 in a maiden race at Del Mar, followed a month later by Hejazi's 100 in a maiden race.

The only non-Baffert trained runner on the list is Munnys Gold, a filly who earned a 101 figure by winning a maiden race at Monmouth Park in 2022 for trainer Todd Pletcher.

To put into perspective, no other two-year-old male or female has run the Beyer number above 91 thus far this year (2025) -- Obliteration earned a 91 Beyer Speed Figure for his win in the six-furlong Grade 3 Sanford Stakes on July 5, 2025.

So it says a lot for Brant to run a Beyer of 101 this early in the year.

Brant, by Gun Runner, is the leading candidate for the Grade 1 Del Mar Futurity, a $300,000 race at seven furlongs on Sept. 7, the final day of the current summer meeting.

I can't wait to see him run again on Sept. 7, 2025.

Bring it on!
