Wait a minute - a 4-year-old first-time starter broke his maiden by 16 lengths?

Yes, that is right: A 4-year-old gelding just broke his maiden in a Maiden Special Weight ($34k) race at Remington Park on August 26, 2023, running a 5 1/2-furlong race in 1:03.74 while earning a Beyer Speed Figure of 95 and he won the race by 16 lengths, beating a very good group of 4-year-old and older horses.

Very very impressive beating a huge field as well.

The horse's name is Amos Moses Hart, a 4-year-old gelding.

In the race, Amos Moses Hart showed flashiness and it took him roughly two strides to assert his superiority while facing a full complement of rivals.

He had a big lead into the turn, ran the bend athletically, and continued to widen his advantage without being asked at all.

The jockey quickly pulled him up past the wire.

He ran fast enough to be on private purchase radar, but at his age and a late start, there may be some soundness issues with this horse and the would-be buyer(s) may not be too eager to doll out some serious money.

Anyhow, the horse was very impressive.

Stay tuned!
