Oh, my goodness! -- Just read an article at the DRF that one of my favorite racetrack announcers, Vic Stauffer, is no longer calling races at Oaklawn Park. It's a shame to lose one of the best in the business.

Come to think of it, one particular race that Vic Stauffer called that sticks in my mind to this day, is when he called a race at Hollywood Park a long time ago when it was still opened.

During that race-calling duty while the race was still going on and was half-way done -- an earthquake rattled Southern Califorina, mainly in the Los Angeles area where Hollywood racetrack was located -- instead of panicking like everyone else in the building, Vic Stauffer (somehow) managed to find humor in the mid of an earthquake while calling the race by saying: "...... racing fans .... I just want to let you know that I love you ......," or something like that.

Now who would do that? Everyone was scared to death of the shaking of the building and Vic Stauffer found a humor to go along with it.

Yeah, only Vic Stauffer!!!

Here is a tweet response from Vic Stauffer on March 10, 2023 (from Las Vegas while competing in the NHC):

"I've separated from @OaklawnRacing. I thank them for 6 1/2 GREAT yrs. We disagreed about the severity of a tweet I recently posted. Respect their opinion. In LV to enjoy competing vs fellow horse players in the NHC. Humbly appreciate all the well wishes. Our game is the BEST! VJS."

According to the tweet response (above) from Vic Stauffer, it seems that Oakland Park didn't like what Vic Stauffer had to say in his tweet.

Was it an offensive tweet or was it some kind of politically charge tweet?

Ahhhh ... I would love to see that tweet to learn more.

I've looked over his tweets (@googonroof) from December 1, 2022 to March 10, 2023 (the date of Vic Stauffer's tweet response) and couldn't find such tweet in question.

My guess is that he deleted the tweet in question.

Anyhow! -- oh well! -- hopefully, he'll get another chance at another racetrack soon.
