Pick for Sunday March 24, 2024:

Melody of Colors Stakes
5 Furlongs | Fillies | 3 Year Olds | G STAKES | PURSE: $100,000

Track: Gulfstream Park
Race: 8
Horse: Pretty Liam (ML 9-2)

Surface: Turf. Yes, that is right: Turf and Pretty Liam is bred for it as her Aunt Cambodia was a successful turf stakes winner a few years ago.

Field (in post position order):

1. Fast Motion (ML 30-1)
2. Tiger Belle (IRE) (ML 8-1)
3. El Terreno (ML 3-1)
4. Crimson Advocate (ML 8-5)
5. Trumpets (ML 15-1)
6. Dot (ML 20-1)
7. Let Them Watch (ML 20-1)
8. Riparound (ML 30-1)
9. Twirling Queen (ML 15-1)
10. Karaya (ML 10-1)
11. Pretty Liam (ML 9-2)

Bet Pretty Liam (ML 9-2) to win and place.

Yes, that is right: WIN/PLACE.

Use the triple down WIN/PLACE betting strategy to make it worthwhile and justified going to the racetrack, and you should be going home as a winner.

I expect Pretty Liam to win the Melody of Colors Stakes on this Sunday March 24, 2024.

The worries that I have are the outside post position 11 and the five-furlong distance, which -- in my opinion -- is way too short for this talented 3yo filly, and she might get beat because of those reasons.

Last time we saw Pretty Liam in action was on February 13, 2024 -- on the Tapeta surface -- and that she struggled mightily and she had ample of traffic problems as well.

You may already know how I feel about the Tapeta surface: It's a bane of my horse playing endeavor.

Some horses love Tapeta surface and the majority of them hate it, and Pretty Liam is one of those horses who hates the Tapeta surface.

Luckily, Pretty Liam doesn't have to run on Tapeta in this race, and perhaps on her future races as well because they don't have stakes races on Tapeta or on synthetic. {Thank, goodness!!!].

So it looks like Pretty Liam is stake-bound for her future races from now on and she doesn't have to deal with the Tapeta or synthetic surfaces anymore [or at least in the near futuree -- Thanks goodness!].

Anyhow, before her last race on February 13, 2024, she won her debut race on Tapeta very impressively despite her dislike of the surface, but because she is so talented that she was able to overcome her dislike of the Tapeta surface.

That tells me she has a world of talent and we can look forward to seeing and betting on her in the future as well.

If you look at her debut race on on January 11, 2024, she struggled in the early part of the race and until inside the 8th pole that her talent took over and she blew by the early pace setters to win going away very impressively.

You can read more about Pretty Liam profile in my post that I wrote on January 11, 2024 -- and that you can find it down about 20 posts down this thread.

However, in this race I am a little worried about the outside post position 11 and the five-furlong distance -- and judging by her pedigree, Pretty Liam is at least a middle distance runner as her sire Liam's Map is a middle distance horse, in which, he was successful from 6 furlongs to one mile.

As a matter of fact, Liam's Map won the Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile several years ago.

So five furlongs is too short for Pretty Liam -- I think!

Her aunt, Cambodia, was a very long distance racehorse and she won a series of 1 1/8 miles races, including twice in the Grade I 1 1/4 miles Yellow Ribbon Stakes at Del Mar Racecourse just a few years ago.

Having said all that, I think that Pretty Liam is going to win the Melody of Colors Stakes on this Sunday March 24, 2024 despite the obstacle of the outside post and the short five furlong distance.

So put a lot of money on Pretty Liam to win and place to make it worthwhile and justified going to the racetrack.

Pretty Liam's final odd will most likely be right around 7/2 second choice.

Take this easy money 9/2 (or at whatever the price is -- 7/2 is my guess) and leave the racetrack as a winner.

There you have it!
