Pick for Friday April 19, 2024 (it's Saturday April 20 in Australia):

HAPPY FINAL LEG OF THE TRIPLE CROWN EVERYONE!

Champagne Stakes (G1)
Conditions: 2YO Set Weights | 1600m (One Mile) | PURSE: $1,000,000

Track: Randwick Racecourse
Race: 4

Horse: MANAAL [7] (ML 7-5).

Field (in post position order):

1. IN HER EYES [8] (ML 60-1)
2. FEARLESS [4] (ML 13-1)
3. ANODE [1] (ML 6-1)
4. MANAAL [7] (ML 7-5)
5. LINEBACKER [2] (ML 7-1)
6. TENBURY WELLS [6] (ML 125-1)
7. BROADSIDING [3] (ML 6-1)
8. EL CASTELLO [5] (ML 34-1)

Make note that the field above is listed here in post position order with the morning line odd and the horse's saddlecloth # enclosed in the square brackets [] next to the horse's name.

In Australia and Europe the field is listed in the order of the horse's saddlecloth # as appose to in post position order as we do here in the US.

As you play their races make sure to adhere to their system of racing format so that you don't get confused and watching and cheering for the wrong horse.

Worse yet, betting on the wrong horse by using the above post position order as your horse's saddlecloth # -- BAD! BAD! BAD!

The 2024 Champagne Stakes field is made up of 6 colts, no geldings and two fillies (Manaal, In Her Eyes).

Of the two fillies Manaal is, of course, the better one at 7-5.

It is a small but elite field for the 2024 Champagne Stakes.

Eight runners have been declared for the Champagne Stakes where ATC Sires' Produce Stakes winner Manaal will chase her second leg of the Sydney 2YO Triple Crown while also attempting to continue the fillies' clean sweep of Australia's Group 1 two-year-old races this season.

Manaal will clash with last Saturday's Fernhill Handicap winner Broadsiding and runner-up El Castello as well as Baillieu Quality winner Linebacker and runner-up Anode.

Looking at the race and put my handicapping knowledge to use, it looks to be a competitive race as Manaal is the only filly capable of winning against this good group two-year-old males.

Although I like Manaal a lot but I think a few could upset her -- and one of them is Linebacker and another is Broadsiding.

The other one that is very interesting is a longshot named El Castello at 33-1.

Those are the few you can take a look at and wager for fun.

For those of us in the US, Saturday in Australia is Friday for us.

Actually, it's Friday night for us in the US with their first race starts at 9:00 P.M (US Central Time) but it's noon time Saturday in Australia.

The Champagne Stakes is scheduled to go off at around 1:00 or 1:30 A.M (US Central Time).

So if you don't have to work early Saturday you can go to your local racetrack and enjoy the final leg of the Triple Crown race in the night owl.

Manaal is likely to go off at odd of 9/5 and yes, her odd will drift upward due a tougher field she'll face this time with the males are ready to give her all she can handle.

That's my assessment on Manaal's chances.

There you have it!

ENJOY THE FINAL LEG OF THE TRIPLE CROWN EVERYONE!
