Yesterday (Sunday March 26, 2023), a star filly by the name of Munnys Gold has risen when she set a new track record at Tampa Bay Downs, running the seven-furlongs Sophomore Fillies Stakes race in 1:20:09, eclipsing the old track record by .80 seconds.

She won by 17 1/4 lengths (easily), looking very very impressive.

She is still undefeated with a 3 for 3 career record earning Beyer Speed Figures of 101 (in her 2yo debut last year), 88 in January of 2023, and yesterday a 106 Beyer Speed Figure, the highest by a 3-year-old of any sex this year (2023).

"... the highest by a 3-year-old of any sex this year (2023) ..."

That is incredible for a 3yo filly this time of the year!!!

It reminds me of another superstar filly trained by Bob Baffert by the name of Gamine when she did the same thing setting track records left and right all over the country in 2020 during her 3yo campaign.

Gamine was so spectacular that not many owners/trainers wanted to run their horses against her during her 3yo campaign.

Munnys Gold and Gamine have the same ability and quality -- the sort of ability and quality that no other fillies have in recent memory. That says a lot.

Now I'm looking forward to her next race which is expected to be the Grade 2 Eight Belles on Kentucky Oaks Day, May 5, 2023.

I can't wait!!!

P.S. Check out my picks for this Thursday March 30, 2023 and for the weekend as well.
