GOLDEN DEGREE WHO WON A $40,000 CLAIMING RACE BY 32 LENGTHS IS ENTERED TO RACE IN A STAKE RACE ON MONDAY MAY 27, 2024 (MEMORIAL DAY HOLIDAY RACING) AT BELMONT AT THE BIG A.

ACTUALLY, SHE IS ENTERED FOR MAIN TRACK ONLY!

IT IS NOT SURE IF SHE IS ALLOWED TO RUN IF IT STAYS ON TURF!

LET'S HOPE IT RAINS HARD AND THE RACE IS OFF TURF!

Golden Degree just raced one week ago and here she is entered to race in a stake race against the toughest group of grass horses, particularly horses trained by Chad Brown.

I thought Linda Rice would find an easier race for her next race, compared to what she faces in this race where she'll have to compete with Chad Brown's horses.

But the race is dependent on the surface change from turf to dirt as she is entered for main track only.

I am not as worried about the one-week turnaround as much as the competition she'll face because her last race was not a race at all -- it was merely a workout-like exercise, in which she was merely jogging by herself.

So in that respect, the short turnaround is not a problem at all.

But what I'm worried about is the huge step up in class from a $40,000 claiming to a $200,000 gr II race that she'll have to improve way more to beat Chad Brown's horses, and even if it is on dirt and Chad Brown's horses are in the race she will have a tougher time beating those horses.

Stay tuned!

P.S.

You can read more about Golden Degree profile in a post that I wrote last week just a few posts down this thread.
