DID I SAY THAT I LOVE TWO-YEAR-OLD RACES?

OBLITERATION IS ON A COLLISION COURSE WITH DAZZLE D'ORO!

According to trainer Steve Asmussen, Obliteration will likely make his next start in the Grade 2, $200,000 Saratoga Special (Aug. 2, 2025).

This puts Obliteration on a collision course with another exciting two-year-old colt named Dazzle d'Oro who won his debut race on Sunday June 29, 2025.

Obliteration just won the Grade 3 Sanford Stakes by 10 1/2 lengths on Saturday July 5 (2025) at Saratoga, earning a whopping 91 Beyer Speed Figure after winning his debut race on June 12 (2025) at Churchill Downs by 7 1/2 lengths.

A 91-Beyer?

Very fast for a two-year-old this time of the year!

Can you say, "A Star In The Making?"

However, standing in the way of his potential stardom is another "Star In The Making" named Dazzle d'Oro, who dazzled on his debut race in a six-furlong race in a dazzling 1:08.65 on a fast Churchill Downs track just one week ago on Sunday June 29, 2025.

Dazzle d'Oro earned a Beyer Speed Figure of 85 for his five-length win.

That puts him on par with Obliteration on speed figure and talent terms.

However, on talent term, I think Dazzle d'Oro will go on to better things as the distance gets longer and longer; whereas, I think, Obliteration is a miler horse.

For now, these two 2yos are very exciting horses to look forward to later this summer and fall.

But first thing first: The Grade 2, $200,000 Saratoga Special (Aug. 2, 2025).

I can't wait!
